" The Ensemble aims to provide inclusive events ( workshops, seminars and email projects ) which aim to give a complete and involving experience for all participants. All events are an integral part of a day which culminates in a concert/event to which all are invited.
The work is sometimes preparatory in that it seeks to
enlighten and make clear possibly challenging programmes ( e.g. email projects and seminars ), and sometimes more practical in that something is created which explores an aspect of the concert/event later the same evening (e.g. fractal prints and compositions).
We have worked with communities/general public ( e.g.Lastingham Day of Light ) and educationally specific groups ( Musical Time Machines/ Chaos of Rainbows concerts ). The Ensemble is committed to widening community participation and using music to bring people together in ways which remain in the hearts and minds of all long after the event."
Our E-mail projects involve discussion between students and composers and performers re the compositional process and preparations for performance. They are a way for students and their teachers to be directly involved prior to the concert day. Teachers are able to introduce students to composers, and access links to important web sites, discuss the works, and the issues involved in performance in the classroom. This also includes a sharing of feedback from composers/performers to students.
