Welcome to Lastingham Day of Light!
It is almost two years since Paul and John proposed a ‘day devoted to Light’. It would be one of those unusual and magical days combining art, relaxation and meditation. There would be discussions, demonstration and workshops, music, services in the crypt … ending with John’s son et lumiere in the evening. The whole day would be set within an atmosphere of quietness, to include music, communal meals and walks.
Gradually the day has taken shape. It will be how we experience light and shadow in our lives. Light is the element that ‘illuminates’ not only out outer visible world but also out inner understanding. In this sense, light is the basis of all revelation, intuition and understanding. It is the ‘inner Light’ that enables our awakening to our self and to others. Light is let in when ever compassion is born …
We would specially like to thanks Awards for All for their generous grant to Lastingham Village Hall to sponsor the Fractal Geometry workshops and the son et lumiere. Awards for All is a scheme for administering Lottery Grants for Local Groups.
