- A Concert as part of the HULL 700 years celebrations

Events During the morning there will be seminar discussions between the two performers and A level music students from York College.This will focus on solo 'cello and piano writing at the close of the 20th century Looking in particular at aspects of scoring and technique. The discussion is a continuation of an email project begun earlier in the year. The public are very welcome to observe.

Morning Seminar 1: 10-11am.
Seminar 2: 11.15-12.30pm.

Afternoon Open Rehearsal: 13.30-15.00pm.

Evening

Concert: 7.30 pm (Doors open at 7.00pm).

- A concert of 20th century music for piano and cello by Stanislaw Hansel and Gabriel Prynn.

Pierre Boulez: Sonata No. 1 (piano).
Andre Ristic: 'Borscht' for solo 'cello.
Stanislaw Hansel: Psychic Music 2 (piano).
Jonathan Harvey: 3 sketches for solo 'cello.

Interval - 20 minutes.

John Cage: Winter Music (piano and images).
Bernd Alois Zimmermann: Sonata for solo 'cello.
Karlheinz Stockhausen: Klavierstuck 7 (piano).
Witold Lutoslawski: Grave for 'cello and piano.
