Gabriel Prynn
Born in England in 1973, Gabriel Prynn studied at the Royal Northern College of Music (U.K) with Clive Greensmith, Principal Cello of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1995 to 1996 he continued his cellistic studies with David Finckel of the Emerson String Quartet in New York and is currently concluding his studies with Daniel Domb, Principal Cello of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Mr.Prynn is now commencing a career in the field of solo and ensemble contemporary music performance. He has participated in masterclasses with Janos Starker, Yuli Turovsky, members of the Emerson and American String Quartets, and with pioneering new music specialist Frances Marie Uitti in Amsterdam.

Mr Prynn has performed in New York City as solo cellist of the Hartt Contemporary Players, at London's Barbican Centre with the Pro Corda String Orchestra under Sir Colin Davis, and toured French Canada with the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal. Of the various awards that he has received it is important to mention scholarships from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (Germany), the King Edward VII Foundation (U.K), and the University of New York. In 1996 Mr.Prynn won the Paranov Concerto Competition in Connecticut.

Gabriel Prynn is preparing a number of recitals of contemporary music for the 1998-99 season, that he shall present at the Ford Centre in Toronto, the Chapelle Historique in Montreal, at the British Music Information Centre in London, and on tour around UK Universities. He shall also be playing for renowned violinist Irvine Arditti in the Summer of 1998, at the Domaine Forget Festival in Quebec, Canada.
